On May, 29 in Hanoi the Russian-Vietnamese consultations on biological safety and security in an inter-agency format took place.
The two sides exchanged views on biological safety and security in Asia- Pacific Region as well as in the world. The issues of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of biological safety and security and strengthening of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC) regime were discussed.
The two sides noted the need for further consultation and cooperation both in bilateral format and at relevant multilateral fora, primarily within the framework of the BTWC and the UN.
