On May 27, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO).
The officials discussed issues of collaboration with the Preparatory Commission for the CTBTO.
During the conversation, the Russian side reaffirmed its commitment to the Treaty, its goals and tasks, the need to continue making the Treaty a universal tool in the interests of strengthening international peace and security. The officials emphasised their mutual commitment to steadily expanding cooperation. They noted the successful completion of the Russian segment of the International Monitoring System. This is a serious tangible material contribution to creating favourable conditions for implementing the CTBT.
