INDRA NAVY 2025: Russian Navy ships enter the Indian Ocean after naval manoeuvres

The Russian Navy detachment completed a business call at the port of Chennai of the Republic of India and went to the Indian Ocean to carry out long-distance mission tasks.

A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet consisting of corvettes Rezki, Aldar Tsydenzhapov, and a medium sea tanker Pechenga arrived in the Republic of India on 26 March. The INDRA NAVY 2025 Russian-Indian naval exercise was held jointly with the ships of the Republic of India in the Bay of Bengal. The destroyer Rana and corvette Kuthar represented India in the naval manoeuvres.

For three days, the sailors practised tactical manoeuvring as part of joint formations, improved skills in countering UAVs and uncrewed surface vehicles, and conducted artillery fire on naval and aerial targets.

In addition to the tasks of the exercise, in the Indian port of Chennai, the crews of Russian ships took part in sports games, went sightseeing, and attended other events of the cultural programme.
