
Russian Navy and Pakistan Navy to conduct PASSEX joint naval exercise in Arabian Sea

A detachment of Russian Navy ships consisting of the corvettes Rezky, Aldar Tsydenzhapov of the Russian Federation, and the Pacific Fleet's medium sea tanker Pechenga will participate in the PASSEX drills together with the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The sides agreed to conduct the exercise during a visit by the Pacific Fleet detachment to the Pakistani port of Karachi.
On Monday, the Russian detachment's commanding officers participated in the conference and a series of official meetings with senior officers of the Pakistan Navy, where the participants discussed the details of the joint exercise. After the talks, the sides exchanged commemorative souvenirs and left notes in the books of honourary guests.
The crews carried out guided tours visiting each other's ships. The Russian officers saw the drills designed to enhance survivability of the corvette Babur.
The PASSEX exercise is take place in the Arabian Sea on the last day of the Russian detachment's stay. The ships of the states will train manoeuvres employing shipborne helicopters, communication, and other aspects of cooperation.
