11.03.2025 (14:00)
Crews of the Northern Fleet's destroyers Snezhnogorsk and Yunga of the Kola Flotilla practised the attack on the mock enemy submarine using standard weapons in the Barents Sea.
A nuclear submarine of the Northern Fleet acted as an adversary during the drills.
The seamen performed a series of search, detection, and tracking tasks using the entire ship's hydroacoustic weapons system, carrying out antisubmarine manoeuvres at various ways and speeds. The crews of destroyers also practised the manoeuvre to avoid from the submarine's torpedo attack.
At the final stage of the drills, the destroyers carried out practical torpedo live fires and antisubmarine bomb drops using RBU-6000 rocket launchers.
The missile firing area was closed to civilian navigation and aviation flights in advance.
The anti-submarine ships of the project Albatros are equipped with AK-176M and AK-630M artillery and air defence systems, RBU-6000 rocket launchers, torpedoes as well as modern hydroacoustic systems.
