Bastion coastal missile systems undergo training in Northern Fleet
10.03.2025 (19:30)
As part of the planned training, servicemen of the missile battalion of the Separate Missile Brigade of the Northern Fleet practised defeating forces of a detachment of ships in the Barents Sea.
The Bastion coastal missile systems carried out electronic launches of the Oniks anti-ship missiles against targets simulating the enemy ship formation.
During the launches, the missile units also carried out a number of measures to camouflage positions and counter unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Bastion coastal missile systems and mobile coastal maritime and air surveillance systems were involved in the drills.
The Bastion coastal missile systems with the Oniks supersonic anti-ship missiles make it possible to create access limitation zones in the Arctic and protect areas of considerable length. Their deployment at combat positions takes only a few minutes. Self-propelled cruise missile moves 2.5 times faster than sound velocity, almost undetectable for modern air defence systems, and is able to disable a warship of any kind at a distance of several hundred kilometres.
