Russian and Chinese warships perform firing training as part of anti-submarine ship defence in Pacific Ocean
14.10.2024
In the north-western part of the Pacific Ocean, Russian Chinese navies carried out combat exercises with practical firing during the anti-submarine and air defence exercise. The Russian-Chinese ship detachment is currently patrolling in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the patrol plan, the detachment of ships searched for a mock enemy submarine in the designated area and trained to pursue it. To destroy a mock enemy' submarine, Russian ships crews used RBU-6000 missile depth charge launcher.
During the next episode of the exercise, the crews of Russian and Chinese navies trained repelling an air attack of a mock enemy. To repel a missile attack, Russian servicemen performed training combat missions with the Kinzhal SAM system. The ships also used the RBOC to get forces out of the area of a missile strike.
Large anti-submarine ships Admiral Panteleyev and Admiral Tributs are involved in joint naval patrol in the Asia-Pacific region from the Russian side. Destroyers Xining and Wuxi, the frigate Linyi, and the replenishment ship Taihu are involved in the drills from the Chinese PLA Navy.
Russian warships and the Chinese Navy began patrolling in the Asia-Pacific region after participating in the Beibu/Interaction 2024 joint naval exercise. During the tasks of the patrols, a series of drills and combat training exercises including the organisation of anti-submarine defence and rescue at sea were planned.
