Russian and Chinese ships practise anti-submarine tasks during joint patrols in Asia-Pacific Region

08.10.2024

In the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean, Russian and Chinese navies practised anti-submarine tasks as part of joint patrols in the Asia-Pacific Region.

A surface task force manoeuvred and formed a movement order to organise anti-submarine defence. A Ka-27PL anti-submarine helicopter was used to search for a submarine of a mock enemy.

Large anti-submarine ships Admiral Panteleyev and Admiral Tributs of the Pacific Fleet participate in the event as part of a tactical group from the Russian side. Destroyers Xining and Wuxi, frigate Linyi, and replenishment ship Taihu are involved in the patrols from the Chinese PLA Navy.

The Russian and Chinese warships began joint patrols in the Pacific Rim after participating in Beibu/Interaction 2024 naval exercise. During the tasks of the patrols, a series of drills and combat training exercises including the organisation of anti-submarine defence and rescue at sea were planned.
