Unbreakable Brotherhood 2024: CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces deliver humanitarian supplies to population
03.10.2024
In Kazakhstan, during the Unbreakable Brotherhood 2024 command post exercise, the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces practised important tasks of post-conflict relief: delivering humanitarian supplies to the population.
Food, including food for children, drinking water, medicines for various purposes, clothing, warm clothing and other bare necessities are part of the humanitarian aid.
The delivery of humanitarian supplies is organised by ground transport. The convoy is accompanied by security units from the military contingents of Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as special police vehicles. Mi-35 attack helicopters carried out aerial reconnaissance for the delivery of humanitarian aid and provided air cover for escort units in the event of an attack on the convoy.
Several convoys crossed the water barrier on a pontoon bridge built in the shortest possible time by the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces' engineering units.
Peacekeepers delivered humanitarian supplies by air to hard-to-reach areas. They used the PSG-500 cargo delivery system to airdrop the cargo. The system allows the cargo to be assembled as quickly as possible and covertly dropped from an altitude of 4,000 metres.
The exercise saw the first use of the APSDG-250 cargo delivery system, which parachute has an embedded navigation system that allows the cargo containers to land within 100 metres of one another. It is characterised by automated control and high-precision landing in the targeted area from altitudes of up to 8,000 metres. The cargo parachutes have an on-board navigation system that allows multiple cargo containers to be airdropped within 100 metres of each other.
The CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces command post exercise is held at the Bereg training ground of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan. The exercise involves national contingents of the peacekeeping forces of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, as well as the operational groups of the CSTO Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat. In total, the exercise involves more than 2,000 troops, 500 units of armoured and motor vehicles, Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters, Il-76 and C-295 aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
