Russian peacekeepers train in isolating mock enemy and repelling attack on base area within CSTO exercise in Kazakhstan
02.10.2024
Servicemen of the 201st military base of the Central Military District repelled an attack on the peacekeeping force's base area and practised isolating the mock enemy during the Unbreakable Brotherhood 2024 involving the CSTO peacekeeping force in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the scenario of one of the exercise stages, a checkpoint of the peacekeeping force's base area was attacked by some individuals. The Russian peacekeepers acted decisively and courageously. They opened fire on the enemy and repelled the attack.
Having putting the enemy to flight, Russian operators of unmanned aerial vehicles detected withdrawal routes and a settlement where the mock enemy concentrated his forces.
After that, having moved out of the base area as soon as possible, the Russian military contingent encircled and isolated the enemy in the settlement, thus ensuring the work of the rapid response team.
At the end, the rapid response team made up of representatives of the National Guard of Kazakhstan, and police of Kyrgyzstan of Tajikistan, trained in detaining the mock intruders.
An active training phase of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces Unbreakable Brotherhood 2024 takes place from 1 to 5 October 2024 in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exercise involves national contingents of the peacekeeping forces of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, as well as the operational groups of the CSTO Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat.
In total, the exercise involves more than 2,000 troops, 500 units of armoured and motor vehicles, Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters, Il-76 and C-295 aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Russian military contingent is based on mountain, motorised rifle units, as well as drone units of the 201st Russian military base of the Central Military District.
