
Laros 2024: Russian and Laotian military train in liberating settlements from mock terrorists

In Primorsky region at the Sergeyevsky training ground of the Eastern MD, an active phase of the Laros 2024 joint Russian-Laotian drills started.
The joint group of troops of Russia and Laos practised negotiating with mock terrorists, evacuating civilians, isolating and moping up a settlement from illegal armed formations.
According to the scenario, a detachment of terrorists seized a settlement and imprisoned local civilians.
The Joint Staff of the drills decided to negotiate with the terrorists to free civilians. The Zhuk-75 robotic system, a Russian cutting-edge system, designed to lay cable lines, ammunition, and communication assets.
Tank crews of the Lao People's Army have inflicted fire damage on mock manpower clusters. Special forces team, together with mine action specialists, carried out tasks to detect explosives, weapons and ammunition caches.
The final stage of the Laros 2024 exercise is to take place on 26 September 2024. During the stage, tactical groups of the two armies will chase and isolate illegal armed groups in an assigned area, inflict fire damage on enemy manpower and hardware, and launch an air strike on enemy reserves.
Special forces units, tank crews, artillery, infantry fighting vehicles, flamethrowers, and Igla man-portable air defence systems, as well as Russian ground-attack and army aviation will be involved in this stage. Tactical airborne troops of the Armed Forces of Russia and the Lao People's Army will also be deployed as part of joint assault groups.
