Northern Fleet frigate Admiral Golovko engages attack UAV during drills
24.09.2024
As part of the planned drills, the Northern Fleet's frigate Admiral Golovko trained in fighting against an unmanned aerial vehicle which was targeting the ship.
During the ship's air defence drills, the crew deployed a Poliment-Redut anti-aircraft vertical launch missile system.
An aerial target simulating a fixed-wing UAV was launched from the coast of the Kola Peninsula.
Anti-aircraft missiles were fired at training grounds of the Northern Fleet in the Barents Sea. Missile firing areas were timely closed for navigation and flights by civilian aviation.
Currently, the Northern Fleet is paying special attention to organising the defence of ships against UAVs and other robotic systems, taking into account the experience of the special military operation.
