
Russia and Laos commence Laros 2024 joint military drills in Primorsky region

The ceremonial opening of the Laros 2024 joint Russian-Lao military exercise was held at the Russian Eastern Military District's military training ground.
Representatives from the command of the Eastern Military District, the combined-arms formation stationed in the Primorsky region, and servicemen from both countries attended the opening ceremony.
Major General Sergey Bobrov, representing the command, wished the participants success and efficient implementation of all scheduled combat training activities. Colonel Vyacheslav Babaak, the manoeuvre commander from the Russian side, also congratulated the servicemen of both countries on this important event.
The national flags of Russia and Laos, along with the flag for the joint exercise, were hoisted in a solemn ceremony and the national anthems of the participating countries were played on the training ground. Servicemen from the Eastern Military District and the Lao People's Army marched in unison across the field.
During the exercise, servicemen of the Lao People's Army will practise all stages of operations in unified combat formation with units of the Eastern Military District.
The Laros 2024 joint Russia-Laos drills takes from 18 to 26 September 2024.
