Interaction 2024, Search 2024, Echelon 2024 exercises completed in Kyrgyzstan

Today, the active phase of the CSTO CRRF Interaction 2024 command post exercise, Search 2024 and Echelon 2024 special exercises concluded on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the scenario of the exercise, the mock enemy has established control over a part of the territory on the border area. A number of settlements have been seized. In the shortest possible time, the military contingents of the CSTO member States were transferred to the training area. The main task of the CSTO grouping is to conduct a joint operation to resolve the armed conflict in the Central Asian region.

During the exercise, the Orion unmanned aerial vehicle of the Russian Armed Forces was used, as well as Su-30SM aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan to deliver air strikes with air-to-air bombs against the mock enemy's main forces. The Russian Supercam drone provided target engagement control.

The CSTO CRRF groups from the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan trained to block and neutralise mock enemy forces approaching settlements. Fire support was provided by Mi-17 helicopters of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan and Mi-8 helicopters of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Thanks to active and coordinated actions of the CSTO CRRF detachments, the enemy was eliminated, and the state border was recovered.

The deployment of air defence forces from the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the troops detached from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Joint Air Defence System was also a feature of the exercise at the Edelweiss training area.

The final stage and closing ceremony of the exercise were attended by Major General Ruslan Mukambetov, First Deputy Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Republic, Imangali Tasmagambetov, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, a delegation of the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, and representatives of the military-diplomatic corps.

On the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, under the leadership of Colonel Artur Temirov, First Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Interaction 2024 command post exercise with the CSTO CRRF, the Search 2024 special drills with reconnaissance units and means, and the Echelon 2024 special drills with logistical units and means were conducted.

Contingents of the CSTO troops (Collective Forces) of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the exercise. These included military contingents, formations of special operations forces from among the special units of the internal affairs (police), security and special services bodies, authorized bodies in the sphere disaster relief, as well as operational groups of the CSTO Joint Staff and the Secretariat. Up to 1,500 servicemen and up to 300 units weaponry, military and special hardware, including aircraft, different types of UAV, combat boats, and air defence means were involved in the drills.
