Echelon 2024: combat service support units undergo drills in highlands

The Echelon 2024 special exercise in Kyrgyzstan involving combat service support (CSS) units is carried out to improve coordination and speed of the operations of the CSTO's logistic, technical, and medical support units during a joint operation.

Particular attention is paid to the combat service support units acting during a regrouping of the CSTO CRRF contingents to the areas of a joint operation. A mobile hospital has been set up in the training area, involving the forces and facilities of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic. The mobile hospital is designed for providing competent medical care to the wounded, sick, and injured.

Combat service support operations were also practised at the Edelweiss Mountain Training Centre at an altitude of 2,300 metres. The Centre is designed for mountain training. The equipment was delivered here by a combination of air, motor, and pack transport.

On the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, under the leadership of Colonel Artur Temirov, First Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Interaction 2024 command post exercise with the CSTO CRRF, the Search 2024 special drills with reconnaissance units and means, and the Echelon-2024 special drills with logistical units and means are being conducted.

Contingents of the CSTO troops (Collective Forces) of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan are taking part in the exercise. Up to 1,500 servicemen and up to 300 units weaponry, military and special hardware, including aircraft, different types of UAV, combat boats, and air defence means are involved in the drills.
