
Selenga 2024 joint Russian-Mongolian military exercise concludes in Mongolia

The Selenga 2024 joint Russian-Mongolian military exercise was concluded in Mongolia. The closing ceremony of the exercise took place at a field camp near the town of Choibalsan.
Acting Commander of the Eastern Military District Lieutenant General Mikhail Nosulev and Chief of General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces Major General Sunreviin Ganbyamba took part in the ceremonial events and awarded military personnel who distinguished themselves during the exercise with departmental insignia of the two countries' defence ministries and valuable gifts.
The commanders of the units participating in the joint exercise lowered the flag with the Selenga 2024 emblem to signify its completion.
I would like to point out the coordinated work of the officers of the Mongolian and Russian staffs. The units of our countries showed high professional training and combat coherence of the personnel,' Acting Commander of the Eastern Military District Lieutenant General Mikhail Nosulev said in his welcoming address to the participants of the exercise.
Then units of the Eastern Military District and the Armed Forces of Mongolia taking part in the manoeuvres marched solemnly in front of the exercise leadership podium.
The event ended with a concert performance on the stage of the field camp by Russian artists from the Republic of Buryatia.
The Selenga joint Russian-Mongol military exercise is aimed at fighting international terrorism. Every year, various episodes of tactical actions are trained and new techniques of modern warfare are practised.
This year, units of the Ground Forces, Aerospace Forces, and Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as well as units of the Armed Forces of Mongolia consisting of up to 700 men and about 200 units of special military equipment were involved in the exercise.
