The first joint training within Russian-Mongol Selenga 2024 exercise takes place in Mongolia.
The Eastern Military District's servicemen of the Joint Group of Forces and the Armed Forces of Mongolia determined the routes of advance according to the special features of the terrain at a training ground as well as honed on the organisation of communication and interaction.
The Joint Staff agreed on common command signal for both sides.
Motorised rifle units trained a joint offensive with deployment to the combat line at a specified speed of combat vehicles.
'For the first time, Russian-Mongol exercises had FPV drones employed. The servicemen of both sides are acting cohesively and in an orderly manner,' said Task Force Executive Officer Adam Matsiyev.
The upcoming joint flight-tactical missions for helicopter crews of the Eastern Military District's Army Aviation and the Air Force of Mongolia are also being developed. In addition, for the first time, Special Operations Forces' units performed an airborne landing with Mi-8AMTSh helicopters.
For the first time, the joint exercise includes units of the Land Forces, the Aerospace Forces and Special Forces of the Russian and Mongolian Armed Forces with a total strength of around 700 people and around 200 units of military hardware. The Aerospace Forces will be presented with fighter, ground-attack, and army aviation.
