
Northern Fleet undergoes drills on liberating port in Arctic

Military sailors and marines from a detachment of the Northern Fleet warships carrying out Arctic campaign tasks practised actions to liberate the territory of the Dudinka seaport seized by the mock enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group.
According to the drills' plans, the mock enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group captured a port and mined all its objects.
The anti-submarine sabotage unit of the Northern Fleet warship detachment stealthily landed on the territory of the captured port, demined the facilities and liberated the captured port administrative building.
Then the servicemen carried out a sea landing on the coast of the Yenisei River and carried out an assault operation to liberate a strategic facility in the Arctic - from water, from the air and from the ground.
The exercise used deck aviation, namely, Ka-27 helicopter, fast boats, artillery of the destroyer Vice-Admiral Kulakov.
Servicemen of the Separate Guards Marine Brigade and Marine Engineering Regiment of the Northern Fleet in co-operation with the crew of the destroyer Aleksander Otrakovsky carried out the landing of the marine landing force by the 'at point-blank range' method.
All tasks of the training were fulfilled in full, the personnel showed coherence and high professionalism.
In the course of Arctic campaigns, carried out on a permanent basis, servicemen of the Northern Fleet practice the tasks of ensuring military security and maritime economic activity of the Russian Federation in the Arctic, defence of continental and island territories, strategically important facilities, and countering illegal armed groups.
