ARMY 2024 Forum demonstrates unique training simulator for improving cooperation of aviation and air defence units
14.08.2024
A unique training system to improve cooperation of aircraft pilots and air defence crews was developed by the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots and Military Academy of Field Anti-Aircraft Defence. It was demonstrated at the ARMY 2024 Forum.
As experience of the special military operation, the issues of cooperation between aviation and field air defence remain relevant. To solve this issue, tactical training simulator for improving cooperation of aviation and field air defence has been developed,' said a representative of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots during the presentation of the simulator.
The training system consists of several simulators on which pilots and air defence crews train simultaneously. Most of the scenarios are real situations that occurred within during the special military operation.
'The aircraft crew performs combat missions to defeat ground targets. The aircraft is operated by a cadet of the aviation school on the developed JAK-130 aircraft procedural training simulator. In the passage corridor, an anti-aircraft missile battery armed with Tor-M2 short-range systems covers the friendly aircraft. The map shows the SAM's zones for detection and engagement,' the instructor explained.
He added that when friendly aircraft fly to the front, they are identified and escorted along the passage corridor. Corridors and altitudes are agreed in advance.
