Over 80 delegations of foreign military departments take part in ARMY 2024 Forum

Today on the final day of the ARMY 2024 IMTF, Head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation Lieutenant General Aleksandr Osadchuk held a traditional briefing for journalists. During the event he summed up results of the second day of the Forum and announced events on 14 August.

Over 80 delegations of foreign military departments took part in events of the second day of the Forum. Ten bilateral meetings of the Russian Defence Ministry leadership with foreign colleagues were organised and held. Bilateral meeting were held with representatives of six countries through the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.

As Lieutenant General Aleksandr Osadchuk pointed out, foreign specialists expressed particular interest in expositions of trophy military vehicles, promising military hardware, exhibitions organised by Roscosmos state corporation, Rosatom corporation, Kalashnikov Concern (Unmanned Systems Expo), Almaz-Antey Concern, JSC Rosoboronexport, Shvabe Holding, Armocom company, ASTRON optical mechanics design bureau, as well as national expositions of Belarus, China, and Iran.

'A point of interest for guests and participants of the ARMY 2024 International Military and Technical Forum is the thematic exhibition 'Military Education in Serving the Fatherland'. It showcases advanced training systems applied in the educational institutions of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation taking into account warfare experience including the one of the special military operation and exercises,' said the head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.

The guests were also interested in the exposition 'Innovations serving the Fatherland' which shows THE latest developments in the field of space, air, ground, and water-based robotics tested and well proven in the special military operation zone.

Moreover, experts pay great attention to the All-Russia People's Front exposition, which presents unique developments designed in the interest of the special military operation.

In particular, developers from Tula presented a drone called 'Ovod'. Manufacturers of communications, navigation and UAV systems described the main benefit of their development: up to 1.5 minutes from taking the UAV out of the box to launching and taking off. The drone has a remote detonation function. It also has a self-destruct mode.

Another popular invention at the exhibition is the Upyr FPV drone. Kamikaze UAVs are designed to defeat heavy and light armour, motor vehicles, dugouts and shelters, and enemy personnel.

The People's Front also presented innovative fire-resistant suits for tankmen at the exhibition. The suits are made from Nomex fabric, a material that does not burn but melts. The fabric can withstand up to 45 seconds of direct fire - the time it takes for a tankman to leave a combat vehicle with no damage to his health. The standard time for this action is 19 seconds.

Designers from all over the country, under the auspices of the People's Front, select, test, and support the serial production of the best domestic engineers. Thanks to the unique 'People's Defence Industry' project, thousands of innovative electronic warfare tools - drone detectors, spectroanalysers, and much more - have been supplied to the troops.

Lieutenant General Aleksandr Osadchuk also reported that 38 events of a scientific and business program were held yesterday on 13 August 2024. Key among them include the round table titled 'Specific features and practices in contract system law. Innovations in procurement', the 4th scientific-practical conference on the development of military law in the context of the special military operation, and conference on the special combat training based on experience of the special military operation chaired by Deputy Minister of Defence Colonel General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.

Russia's Deputy Defence Minister Anna Tsivileva held a round table with representatives of enterprises and organisations on rehabilitation for veterans of the special military operation.

Moreover, at the Forum, Anna Tsivileva took a look at the booth of the Military Medical Academy, where she was told about new training methods for future doctors. In particular, she learnt how augmented reality systems are applied as well as specially designed programmes including an encyclopedia of tactical medicine.

On the second day of the ARMY 2024 IMTF, the Russian Defence Ministry presented awards to the defence industry enterprises which distinguished in fulfiling the state defence order. The awards were presented in the nominations of 'Working collectives that distinguished themselves in fulfiling the state defence order' and 'For contribution to organising and holding the Forum'. Today, the series of awards will continue, including the grand prize award ceremony of the ARMY 2024 International Military and Technical Forum.

In addition, in order to develop scientific and technical cooperation with regional organisations and work together on applied research, agreements were signed at the Forum on 13 August 2024 between the Main Directorate for Innovative Development and the leadership of the Sakhalin, Kherson, and Omsk regions, TulaTECH Science and Education Centre, and 'Proyek-Tekhnika' Corporation (Kursk). Today, it is planned to sign such an agreement with the Association of Innovative Regions (Bortnik Fund).

Today, 42 events of the scientific and business programme are planned. Key among them is the conference on the 'Current issues of organising medical support during the special military operation'.

'The activities within the scientific and business program are nearing their completion, and its outcomes will be summarised at a solemn session. The expert community will commend its active participants, and the results of the activities carried out by the Main Directorate of Innovative Development of the Russian Defence Ministry will produce a summary of the main papers presented at the Forum,' added Lieutenant General Aleksandr Osadchuk.

He also recalled that on 13 August 2024, state contracts worth more than 500 billion roubles have been signed and granted. The signing ceremony was overseen by Colonel General Anatoly Gulyaev, Chief of the Main Armament Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. As a result of the contracts, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will receive more than 500 units of basic weapons and equipment, and some 1 million pieces of ordnance.

Today on the final day of the ARMY 2024 IMTF, all platforms will work in the interests of scientific and business community and representatives of foreign delegations. A series of bilateral meetings are planned involving the Ministry of Defence of Russia, Federal Service of Military-Technical Cooperation, and Rosoboronexport. There will be a series of awarding ceremonies, including the grand prize award ceremony of the ARMY 2024 International Military and Technical Forum.
