ARMY 2024 Forum: FMBA shows innovative developments for Russian Defence Ministry and defence industry, state-of-the-art technologies for the security, treatment, and rehabilitation of personnel involved in special military operation, and work of integrate

12.08.2024

At the ARMY 2024 Forum, Russia's leading scientific and medical institutions of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) presented innovative products and equipment in the field of biological safety monitoring and pharmaceutical protection, including automated detectors and indicators of biopathogens, test systems, medications, antidotes, and radio protectors.

An autonomous automatic sensor for biological reconnaissance is among the exhibits. It detects biological agents in the air in real time and identifies them by group: bacteria, viruses, toxins. The sensor can be used in mobile laboratories for environmental monitoring as well as in places of a mass congestion of people such as at airports.

A kit of the radiation and chemical protection is of particular interest. It aims to prevent and treat adverse human health effects from exposure to chemical and radiation hazards.

A unique feature of all the developments presented at the exhibition is the ability to work fully autonomously in emergency situations, including those close to combat conditions. It is important to emphasise that this does not require specific training for an operator.

One of the Agency's top priorities is the medical rehabilitation of servicemen, with the aim of restoring as many of their bodily functions as possible. The exhibition showcases a portable Russian development, a neuro-rehabilitation simulator with biological feedback and VR-technology. It is designed to restore upper limb mobility after cranial injuries and wounds.

Spinal neuroprothesis is another unique Russian development that is unprecedented in the world. The simulator enables efficient and rapid motor neuro-rehabilitation of spinal cord-injured patients using electrical stimulation technology for different spinal cord structures combined with special exercises.

Leading experts of the Russian FMBA will take part in the Forum's business programme, share experience and innovative solutions for effective medical care and rehabilitation of participants of the special military operation. They will also discuss their experience in ensuring medical and biological safety in the Russian Federation and training highly qualified personnel taking into account the experience of the special military operation.
