Baltic Fleet troops underwent training in Kaliningrad region to hone skills in countering unmanned aerial vehicles.
The drills involved organic mobile anti-UAV units which used jamming stations, anti-aircraft and sniper weapons.
The groups consisted of electronic warfare and anti-aircraft specialists along with snipers. The training was focused on practical employment of new methods of anti-drone warfare. Particular attention was paid to the teamwork to detect and neutralise various drone types in time.
Following the scenario, the electronic warfare units searched for and tracked down small low-flying targets, and Strela-10 large-calibre machine guns and Strela-10 man-portable air defence systems. The detected UAVs were downed by snipers.
Based on the experience acquired during the special military operation, drills are conducted regularly, both as part of small units and as part of companies and battalions.
More than 100 servicemen took part in the drills and over 10 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved.
