Submarine Komsomolsk-on-Amur conducts torpedo drills in Peter the Great Gulf
06.08.2024
The diesel-electric submarine Komsomolsk-on-Amur of the Pacific Fleet helf torpedo drills in Peter the Great Gulf.
A special target simulated a mock enemy during the drills.
The drills were organised in accordance with the Fleet's combat training plan at the Pacific Fleet's sea range.
According to scenario, the submarine Komsomolsk-on-Amur was tasked with stealthy approaching the target, defeating the enemy ship, and also leaving the area undetected. Three Pacific Fleet's corvettes present in the training waters made it difficult for the submarine to detect the target.
The submarine crew successfully completed the mission. Observing all safety requirements, they fired two dummy torpedoes.
Having engaged the target, the submarine Komsomolsk-on-Amur left the area undetected and manoeuvred to avoid pursuit.
