Baltic Fleet ships undergo scheduled live-fire drills
30.07.2024
As part of the planned exercise on protection and defence of homeports and sea routes, the Baltic Fleet forces carried out artillery firing at targets simulating combat ships and means of air attack of the mock enemy.
The small anti-submarine ship Aleksin and missile ships Dimitrovrad and Morshansk carried out strikes as part of an episode about the artillery live-fire drills involving mock surface ship as well as combat operations against a single ship and air attacks. In addition to artillery live fire, missile ships practised electronic missile launches at sea targets.
The Border Service of the Russian Federation warships and boats in Kaliningrad region were also involved in the exercises. Their crews, in cooperation with the Baltic Fleet's forces deployed at sea, practised a range of measures to protect and defend sea routes and fleet's homeports.
Large-scale exercises of the Navy oversaw by Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Aleksandr Moseyev are conducted in the responsibility areas of the Northern, Pacific, Baltic fleets, and the Caspian Flotilla. In total, ships, naval aircraft, and coastal troops have to carry out over 300 combat exercises with the use of weapons. The main goal of the drills is to inspect actions of the command of the Russian Navy on all levels as well as combat readiness of the ships' crews, Naval Aviation and coastal units to perform tasks according to the purpose.
