Northern Fleet ships leave port of Havana, Republic of Cuba

17.06.2024

The Northern Fleet's crew, led by the frigate Admiral Gorshkov, is currently engaged in long-range missions in the Atlantic Ocean.

During their stay at the port, the crews took part in protocol, observance, and commemoration events, including those dedicated to Russia Day. A significant development for Northern Fleet military personnel was the visit of the frigate Admiral Gorshkov and the nuclear-powered missile submarine Kazan by President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel.

In addition, as part of a call by a detachment of ships of the Northern Fleet to the port of Havana, the Northern Fleet servicemen took part in a number of commemorations: tributes honoured the leader of the Cuban liberation movement Jose Martí and Soviet internationalist soldiers.

After being withdrawn from the territorial waters of the Republic of Cuba, the detachment of ships will continue to carry out tasks in accordance with the long-distance approach plan.
