10.06.2024
Russian Navy warships including the guards missile cruiser Varyag and frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov made a routine call at the Alexandria port (Egypt).
As part of the call by Russian ships on Russia Day, 12 June, a reception will be held with the participation of representatives of the command of the Egyptian Navy on board of the guard missile cruiser Varyag. Also, the crews of Russian ships will have the opportunity to rest after long-distance trips and get acquainted with local sightseeings.
The business call of the Russian warships will last until 14 June and will conclude with a bilateral Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with the ships of the Egyptian Navy. The ships will hone the elements of joint manoeuvering, conduct communication and inspection exercises.
The visit of the Russian warships' detachment to the Alexandria port will be another practical step in strengthening Russia-Egyptian naval cooperation.
