Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov conducts air defence exercise in Atlantic Ocean
23.05.2024
The frigate Admiral Gorshkov being on the long-distance sortie in the Atlantic Ocean conducted a training exercise to protect the Northern Fleet detachment from the air attacks of a mock enemy. The ship exercise focused on repelling air strikes and anti-ship missiles of the mock enemy was carried out with the help of computer-aided simulation of the tactical situation with mock surface-to-air strikes launched by the frigate.
Three targets were set at the training ground, which flew from different directions and heights. The crews used the Poliment-Redut surface-to-air missile system, A192M universal naval gun, and the Palash surface-to-air missile and artillery system.
The air defence command post met a set of control standards. The detection, EW and anti-aircraft posts have issued and acquired targeting data, and has also honed an algorithm for the use of the ship self-defence weapons.
