Pacific Fleet's surface ships perform submarine search exercise in the Sea of Japan
25.03.2024
In the Sea of Japan, the corvette Sovershennyy, small anti-submarine ships Metel and Koreets of the Pacific Fleet conducted an exercise, during which the Pacific Fleet's surface group practised the tasks of searching, detecting and destroying a submarine of the mock enemy.
During the anti-submarine exercise at the maritime training range, the group of ships entered the area where the enemy submarine was located and began a group search for an underwater object. Having detected an acoustic trail, the anti-submarine crews practised tactical elements of maritime warfare against the submarine in conditions of active resistance and attempts to hide from the persecution.
The mock enemy was the diesel-electric submarine Volkhov, whose crew successfully fired a Kalibr-PL missile system before the anti-submarine exercise.
The event was held in accordance with the Fleet's combat training plan. The objectives of the anti-submarine exercise have been achieved.
