Pacific Fleet's submarine Volkhov launches Kalibr cruise missile at coastal target
22.03.2024
The Pacific Fleet's diesel-electric submarine Volkhov crew carried out the Kalibr cruise missile launch from the submerged position in accordance with the combat training plan in the Sea of Japan.
Missiles were fired at a coastal target imitating a firing position of a mock enemy. Before the launch, the submarine covertly moved to the designated area.
At the estimated time, the Kalibr missile successfully hit the designated target on the Surkum firing range located in Khabarovsk region. The firing range was more than 1,000 kilometres.
The missile firing area was closed by ships of the Pacific Fleet, as well as aircraft and naval aviation unmanned aerial vehicles.
