26.01.2024

Today, Day of Acceptance of Military Products has been held in Russian Defence Ministry under leadership of Head of military department, during which the results of deliveries of weapons and military hardware to the troops in 2023, as well as the construction of infrastructure facilities were summarised.

'Thanks to the efficient work of the Russian Defence Ministry and defence industry organisations, the production of the main weaponry and ammunition in demand has increased many times over,' Sergei Shoigu stressed.

In particular, the expansion and modernisation of production facilities, as well as increased labour productivity, contributed to this.

Many enterprises have commissioned new workshops, lines, and sections equipped with high-tech equipment.

'The increase in the intensity of production required the involvement of a significant number of qualified personnel specialists for the entire range of production facilities and for the entire range of weapons and military equipment produced, in some cases switching to a round-the-clock work schedule. All this has the most favourable effect on raising the prestige of working professions,' Russian Defence Minister said.

'Hardware and weaponry arrive in a timely manner in the special military operation zone increasing the combat capabilities of combined groups of troops,' he added.

A well-established system of operational repair and maintenance of weapons and hardware in the field has significantly reduced the time required to restore them, thereby increasing their readiness for its intended use.

'The main task at the moment remains to provide each unit and each fighter with everything necessary for the successful fulfilment of combat missions,' Sergei Shoigu stressed.

Russian Defence Minister noted, that as for the military construction complex, in 2023, facilities for the special military operation, military and special purposes were handed over in a short time while maintaining the high quality of work performed.

'The main efforts were focused on building infrastructure to accommodate nuclear deterrent forces, improving the airfield network, the Navy basing system, and the development of new constituent entities of the country. A total of 2,772 buildings and structures have been constructed. The planned activities have been fully implemented,' he concluded.
