
Ships of Russian Navy and Indian Navy undergo artillery drills with sea and air targets in Bay of Bengal

A two-day Russian-Indian naval exercise was concluded in the Bay of Bengal. The Russian Federation was represented by the Pacific Fleet destroyer Admiral Tributs and the medium sea tanker Pechenga. From the Indian Navy, the destroyer Ranvijay and the corvette Kiltan were involved.
During the drills, servicemen of both countries performed joint manoeuvres, underwent communication training. Crews improved ship replenishment skills on the move, and pilots of the Indian Navy helicopter landed on the deck of the Russian Navy ship. The Russian pilots, in turn, trained landing on an Indian destroyer.
During the exercise on the organisation of the defence of a joint detachment of ships from the mock enemy means of air attack, night artillery firing at air targets was carried out. Artillery fire was also directed at a naval target.
Having fully completed all the tasks assigned, ship crews of the Russian and Indian Navy held a farewell ceremony in the Bay of Bengal. The ships, moving on a parallel course, thanked each other for their joint work.
