Mr Minister, Yvan,

Colleagues, friends,

We are delighted to welcome you to Moscow. I know that you have been to our capital more than once, but this is your first time as Foreign Minister of Venezuela. Our contacts have been on the rise. In 2023, we spoke during my visit to Caracas last April and on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in September.

I appreciate our trust-based dialogue. It helps to keep track of the steps taken by various agencies to promote bilateral cooperation across the board on the basis of the agreements reached by our presidents. We also note our truly friendly and productive cooperation at international platforms, primarily at the UN.

We see Caracas' energetic and active role in strengthening integration processes in Latin America and the Caribbean. We are grateful for your country's assistance in promoting ties between the Russian Federation and the Latin American region.

At the initiative of Venezuela, the regional association ALBA issued a statement on the developments in the Middle East around the Gaza Strip. We note that we hold similar or almost identical approaches.

I am confident that today's talks will be useful for promoting bilateral cooperation, exchanging views and planning joint steps when it comes to regional and international issues.
