
Russian Defence Minister General of Army Sergei Shoigu inspects fulfilment of state order in Novosibirsk region

Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu inspected fulfilment of state defence order at the enterprise of the military-industrial complex Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after V.P.Chkalov.
Head of the Russian Defence Ministry inspected flight test station and finishing department at the enterprise which is part of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation performing serial production, repair, and modernization of Su-34 fighter-bombers.
Head of the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after V.P.Chkalov Aleksander Panasenko briefed Sergei Shoigu that at the moment the enterprise is able not only to establish mass production, but also to carry out major repairs of aircraft equipment that has exhausted its service life during operation.
At the moment, under instructions of Russian Defence Minister given before in order to lower expenses on production the enterprise combines repair work along with the modernization of combat vehicles, which are now carried out simultaneously.
Head of the Russian defence department ordered the management of the enterprise to increase the pace of production and repair of equipment taking into account the demand for manufactured products: 'This aircraft is the main workhorse, the aircraft perform four to five sorties every day, so we need to hurry up. Some enterprises are already fulfilling the production plan on 2024. The production here must be organised in a similar way' Sergei Shoigu stated.
Head of the enterprise briefed the Russian Defence Minister that the enterprise is capable of carrying out repair work of any complexity: 'We learned to do everything. We have experience in replacing the head part, we have practical experience in repairing the tail part, we have experience in repairing the bulge, this is the most difficult repair in terms of assembly here' said Aleksander Panasenko.
After the inspection, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu held a working meeting with the enterprise's management and relevant military authorities.
'We pay particular attention to introducing promising examples of aviation technology to the Armed Forces', said Sergei Shoigu during the working meeting.
Head of the Russian defence department noted that this year due to the joint efforts of industry and the Russian Defence Ministry, the supply of new Su-34 aircraft and the revision of those already in service with the troops are carried out according to the plan.
'In addition, we have completed contracting for the 2024 production plan at the enterprise. There are no issues demanding our immediate attention related to the 2024 production plan' said Sergei Shoigu.
Participants at the meeting discussed the fulfilment of contracts in 2023 and set tasks for the next year in terms of increasing combat capabilities of tactical aviation.
In addition, the issue of carrying out experimental design work on the development of a complex with long-range unmanned aerial vehicles was taken into consideration.
