ADMM Plus Exercise: active comes to an end in Primorye
29.09.2023
At that stage, military contingents making up a multinational group of troops practised joint actions in an anti-terrorist operation at the Sergeevsky training range of the Eastern Military District.
In particular, according to the plan of the exercise, mock terrorists - an illegal armed formation - occupied three settlements. Combined motorised rifle units made up of soldiers from China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Russia, and India blocked the armed group and demanded that they lay down their arms and surrender. The terrorists who had occupied the village refused.
After that, the assault groups, supported by tank units on T-80BVMs, crews of 120-mm Sani mortar systems and unmanned aerial vehicles, and crews of Ka-52 Alligator helicopters cleared, blocked, and destroyed pre-prepared strongholds of mock terrorists.
In addition, in order to prevent the mock enemy's reserves from approaching, Ka-52 Alligator helicopters and Su-25 aircraft carried out strikes with unguided aerial missiles and bombs against columns and clusters of enemy personnel, ensuring the landing of Indian and Russian assault units from Mi-8AMTSh helicopters.
It should be noted that the personnel of the Eastern Military District's units involved in the exercise participated in the zone of special military operation and gained combat experience, which they actively shared with servicemen from the States participating in ADMM Plus in the course of the exercise.
We recall that the objectives of the exercise are: to strengthen and promote regional cooperation in countering terrorism, to raise the level of operational cooperation between ASEAN countries and their dialogue partners in countering terrorism, and to exchange experience in countering terrorism.
The tactical scenarios are based on variants of joint actions by military contingents of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the armed forces of Myanmar and other partner States.
Military bodies and units of the Eastern Military District are involved in the exercise. Operational groups and military contingents of the Armed Forces of the State of Brunei Darussalam, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Republic of India, the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the People's Republic of China, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Republic of the Philippines have been invited to the joint actions as part of a multinational grouping.
The exercise involves about 700 servicemen from military contingents of the participating countries, ground-attack aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, tanks, armoured personnel carriers, and other military and special hardware of the Eastern Military District.
