05.09.2023

'I'm going to start by summarising two important events held by the Ministry of Defence last month.

On 20 August, the International Military-Technical Forum ARMY-2023 was completed.

One and a half thousand enterprises and organisations, including 83 foreign companies, demonstrated 28 and a half thousand samples of military and dual-use products.

National expositions were presented by Belarus, Vietnam, India, Iran, China, Pakistan.

The Forum was attended by military delegations from 83 countries, including forty one high-level delegations, as well as representatives of six international organisations.

Fifteen thousand experts participated in the scientific and business programme. Twenty state contracts were concluded for a total amount of over four hundred billion roubles. More than one million people visited the exhibition grounds during the week.

The Forum once again proved that even under the conditions of sanctions it remains a relevant platform for countries ready to build equal partnership relations in the military-technical sphere.

Thanks for the well done job to everyone involved in the preparation and running of the event.

The 11th Moscow Conference on International Security was also held in August.

It brought together 800 delegates from 76 countries and six international organisations, including 26 defence ministers, 16 deputy defence ministers and chiefs of general staff.

The heads of foreign defence ministries expressed support for Russia's foreign policy course towards strengthening multipolarity and readiness to further develop constructive cooperation with Russia in the defence sphere.

The conference confirmed Russia's high authority in the international arena and demonstrated the failure of the collective West's efforts to isolate it.

Further on the start of the new school year in the Armed Forces.

On 1 September, 38 higher and 33 pre-university educational institutions of the Ministry of Defence began their work.

Classes began for the first time at the newly established Military Engineering Academy in Nakhabino, the Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School and the Irkutsk Suvorov Military School.

The total number of students and cadets was more than 60 thousand people, students - almost 17 thousand. At the same time, the 2023 enrolment was significantly higher than last year's.

The training programmes are adapted to the experience of the special military operation.

Special attention is paid to practical training, modelling, issues of organisation and support of combat operations, use of weapons, military and special hardware, including new models.

Cadets and Suvorov Military School students will study the basics of military and naval training, take courses in tactical medicine, army tactical shooting and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Teachers, students and cadets will take part in operational and combat training of troops, command and staff exercises.

About the special military operation.

The Russian Armed Forces continue active actions along the entire line of contact.

The Kiev regime, despite heavy losses, has been trying for the third month to wage the so-called counter-offensive. In none of these areas did the AFU achieve their objectives.

The Ukrainian leadership is desperately trying to demonstrate to its Western handlers at least some success of offensive actions in order to further receive military and economic support, which only prolongs the conflict.

The most tense situation was in Zaporozhye direction. The enemy has brought into the battle brigades from the strategic reserves, whose personnel have been trained under Western instructors.

Thanks to the selfless actions of servicemen of the 810th Brigade and the 177th Marine Regiment, the 56th Airborne Assault Regiment and the 71st Motorised Rifle Regiment, as well as units of the 76th Airborne Assault Division, significant damage was inflicted on Ukrainian units.

Acting decisively in Kupyansk and Kremennaya directions, Russian troops liberated Novosyolovskoye, significantly improving the situation along the front line.

During the offensive, servicemen of 1st, 12th and 26th tank regiments show bravery and courage.

The Russian Armed Forces continue to destroy Ukraine's military infrastructure with precision strikes.

Over the past month alone, 34 command posts of the AFU of the command operational-tactical unit were hit.

Since the beginning of the so-called offensive, the enemy losses were sixty six thousand men and seven thousand six hundred pieces of armament.

In an attempt to cover up the failure of the offensive, Ukrainian militants are attacking civilian objects and presenting these attacks as military victories.

As a result of the competent actions of Russian combat units, 159 HIMARS missiles, over a thousand unmanned aerial vehicles and 13 cruise missiles were shot down last month.

I thank the military personnel for their fighting spirit and focus on victory.

Navigation delivery has been completed, and standard fuel reserves have been created in the Far North regions.

The heating has been already started in five regions.

Today we will hear a report on the readiness for the upcoming heating season in the other regions.

Next, we will discuss the state of the military transport aviation fleet, which carries out a wide range of tasks in the country and abroad.

Thus, since the beginning of the special military operation, eight thousand aircraft sorties have been made, almost 376 thousand servicemen, over two thousand seven hundred units of military hardware and one hundred thirty-two thousand tonnes of cargo have been delivered.

In addition, military transport aviation was involved in firefighting missions and supporting of the actions of Russian grouping in Syria.

At the conference, we will consider opportunities for further development of military transport aviation.'
