Long-Range Aviation aircraft performed scheduled flights in airspace over neutral waters of Baltic, Barents, Norwegian, East Siberian, Chukchi, Beaufort seas and Arctic Ocean
The event involved strategic missile carriers Tu-160 and Tu-95ms, as well as long-range bombers Tu-22m3.
The longest flight was more than 7 hours.
Fighter escort was provided by crews of Su-35s, Su-27, MiG-31 aircraft of the Aerospace Forces and Naval Aviation.
'All flights were carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace', said the Commander of Long-Range Aviation Lieutenant General Sergei Kobylash.
'Long-Range Aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Black and Baltic seas, and the Pacific Ocean', he stressed.
