21.07.2023

The bilateral Russian-Chinese naval exercise 'North/Interaction - 2023' continues in the waters of the Sea of Japan.

In the course of practical operations, Russian and Chinese sailors improved their navigation skills in various formations and conducted communications training.

Russian warships practised naval combat with a mock enemy ship, during which they carried out artillery firing at a sea target with 100mm Ak-100 and A-190 artillery systems.

As part of an exercise to repel an air attack by a mock enemy, the ships of the detachment conducted artillery firing at a simulated air target with rapid-fire anti-aircraft guns.

Later, sailors of the Russian and Chinese navies destroyed a mock-up of a sea floating mine posing a danger to shipping from a large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs with a heavy machine gun, and also repelled an attack by a high-speed small-sized target.

Joint Russian-Chinese Naval Exercise 'North/Interaction - 2023' is being held in the waters of the Sea of Japan from 20 to 23 July.

The main purpose of the exercise is to strengthen naval cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China and to maintain stability and peace in the Asia-Pacific region.
