
Major amphibious ship Aleksandr Otrakovsky performs onboard artillery drills in the Sea of Barents

On Thursday personnel of the major amphibious ship Aleksandr Otrakovsky, which belongs to the Kola Flotilla of the Northern Fleet's joint forces underwent onboard artillery drills at the Fleet's firing ranges in the Sea of Barents.
Onboard artillery crews of the major amphibious ship honed their skills of naval warfare with a mock enemy ship along with actions on suppressing a firing position on the shore. Artillery crews destroyed dummy floating mine.
The crew of 57mm artillery piece of the ship's onboard cannon and missile artillery fired at shore-based and surface targets.
During naval drills, the personnel will participate in damage control, countersabotage exercises on unsafe roadstead anchorage, and air defence drills.
Earlier the major amphibious ship Aleksandr Otrakovsky performed joint exercises with the Kola Flotilla forces' minesweepers and passed through a waterway in Kola Bay.
