12.07.2023
The minesweeper Yakov Balayaev of the Russian troops and forces in the Northeast ensured safe passage of the Pacific Fleet's major amphibious ship Admiral Nevelskoy from the base of operations in Kamchatka during joint tactical drills.
At the drills' first stage, the major amphibious ship's crew loaded the Pacific Fleet's Naval Infantry personnel, hardware and weaponry. The Minesweeper led the major amphibious ship behind sweeps, when leaving the base of operation.
At the drills' second stage, the minesweeper performed tasks on mine clearing, providing safe passage through a minefield in the Sea of Japan waters.
The minesweeper Yakov Balayev's onboard artillery crews fired Kord 12.7mm heavy machineguns at mock enemy floating mines.
In order to recreate a real combat situation, mock deep sea mines were deployed during the exercises.
