Pacific Fleet's small anti-submarine ships undergo mock enemy submarine search and destruction drills near the Kuril Islands

11.07.2023

Small anti-submarine ships Sovetskaya Gavan and Koreets underwent mock enemy submarine search, surveillance, and destruction drills.

According to the drills' plan, the Pacific Fleet's naval aviation acquired coordinates of an identified submarine near the Kuril Islands. The Command of the Russian Troops and Forces in the Northeast decided to send small anti-submarine ships of the defence of waterway area formation to the designated area.

Upon swift arrival at the designated sea area from the Sea of Okhotsk, the ships began searching for a mock enemy submarine in predetermined sectors. Having taken the necessary course of actions, the ships' crew managed to successfully locate a submarine and identify it as 'enemy'.

Due to skilful and cohesive actions of the personnel, all tasks were completed during the drills.

The presence of a mock enemy submarine was imitated by electronic equipment.
