On July 10, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a meeting with Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Moscow on the sidelines of the sixth ministerial meeting of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council strategic dialogue.
During the conversation, the foreign ministers discussed high-priority issues of further developing the traditionally friendly Russia-Kuwait relations and reaffirmed the commitment of Moscow and Kuwait City to implementing agreements reached at the top level, including efforts to strengthen the mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment partnership.
While reviewing Middle East issues, they prioritised the need to resolve persisting conflicts and crisis situations in this strategically important region, including the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation, by political methods, with due consideration for a balance of legitimate interests of all the parties involved. They also emphasised the need to unfailingly honour international law and to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Middle East and Persian Gulf states.
