On July 10, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on the sidelines of the sixth Russia – Gulf Cooperation Council Strategic Council Ministerial Meeting in Moscow.
The two foreign ministers discussed current issues related to the further progressive development of traditionally friendly Russian-Bahraini relations, including securing the sustainable, positive dynamics of bilateral trade and boosting cooperation in the investment, financial, cultural and educational areas.
The ministers also had an in-depth discussion of the key issues of the international and regional agenda, with a focus on political and diplomatic methods being the only way to settle conflicts and crises in the Middle East and in the Persian Gulf region.
