Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's meeting with GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi

On July 10, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi in Moscow on the sidelines of the sixth round of the Russia-GCC strategic dialogue.
The two officials expressed satisfaction with the practice of organising ministerial meetings for a strategic dialogue that allows the two parties to thoroughly discuss a broad spectrum of issues relating to the coordination of approaches that Russia and the GCC member countries take in the interest of resolving conflict situations in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region and ensuring stability and sustainable development in this part of the world.
A lot of attention was given to the prospects for developing trade, and economic and investor interaction between Russia and the monarchies on the Arabian Peninsula. Mutual interest was expressed in stepping up industrial cooperation and carrying out joint projects in both Russia and the GCC member countries.
