
Russian Pacific Fleet finishes drills in the off-shore maritime zone

Pacific Fleet units finished tasks during tactical drills in the off-shore maritime zone.
During drills in the Sea of Japan and Okhotsk Pacific Fleet ship detachment performed over 350 combat exercises, 270 of which included life fires.
During final stage of the drills striking and search and attack group in assigned areas far apart from each other performed tasks. From the coast the Fleet's units were supported by Bastion and Bal coastal defence missile launchers, Pacific Fleet's naval aviation aircraft and helicopters provided air support.
During anti-submarine exercises, surface ships deployed practical anti-submarine weaponry. Long-range Tu-142MZ, Il-38, Il-38N anti-submarine aircraft were responsible for search and detection of enemy submarines, using hydroacoustic buoys in areas, where enemy submarines were expected to operate.
Over 60 Fleet's warships as part of various tactical groups practised all elements of air defence, including of artillery life fires with 100mm A-190 and AK-630M artillery guns. The tactical background for these training scenarious was provided by MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors.
The ships's crews and coastal defence missile systems concluded the tactical drills with high-precision missile strikes at enemy ship detachments. The seamen practised the entire algorithm of action with electronic launches of cruise missiles.
Tactical drills were held from 5 to 20 June 2023 under supervision of the Pacific Fleet's Commander Admiral Viktor Liina.
