
Russian interministerial delegation conducts nine humanitarian campaigns across Syria

Representatives of the Russian interministerial delegation conducted nine humanitarian campaigns for civilians in Damascus region, Latakia, and Tartous.
During the ceremony, Aleksandr Lavrentiev, the Head of the Logistics Department of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Lunkov and Russian Defence Ministry representatives provided Syrians with food supplies, necessities. The icons, made at the iconography workshop of the Holy Danilov Monastery, were delivered to the people of Safita.
'Today we had a meeting with governors of three cities, the militia leaders and Metropolitan Basilis of the Antiochian Orthodox Church. To them we handed over all the humanitarian support. We got an extremely positive impression of the meetings, the mindset is welcoming. People here love and respect Russia. I hope that such good relationships will last in the future,' said Aleksandr Lavrentyev to the media.
Apart from that, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development, and Entrepreneurship Vladimir Gutenev visited the Russian Centre for Science and Culture 'Russian House' in Damascus. During the visit, Gutenev handed over food supplies, clothes, necessities to families in need.
The Ibn Al-Nafees hospital in Damascus has received Russian-made modern medical equipment for artificial ventilation of minors' lungs, pharmaceuticals, and medical supplies.
Rossotrudnichestvo and Autonomous Non-Commercial Organisation for the Support of Humanitarian Programs 'Russian Humanitarian Mission' handed over four diesel generator sets and 150 food supplies to Ismail-Al-Akkari school and Yalda district city hospital in Damascus province.
About three tonnes of food and necessities have been delivered to the Hirjilla Refugee Centre.
A delegation of the Russian Ministry for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters of the Russian Federation, headed by Lieutenant General Aleksey Serko, State Secretary - Deputy Minister, handed over modern fire and rescue equipment to the firefighters regiment of the city of Damascus.
During the visit, a memorandum on cooperation was signed between the Russian Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters and the Syrian Ministry of Municipal Administration and Environment.
In Latakia province, a delegation from Nizhny Novgorod region conducted humanitarian campaigns and handed over medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to healthcare institutions.
In addition, an agreement was signed to establish twin-cities relations between Dzerzhinsk and Latakia.
The Russian interdepartmental delegation will work in the Syrian Arab Republic until 9 June 2023.
