Press release on presenting a diplomatic demarche to the ambassadors of Germany, Denmark and Sweden over the investigations into the sabotage attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines

On May 25, the ambassadors of the FRG, Denmark and Sweden were summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, where they were presented with a strong protest in connection with the lack of results in the national investigations by the authorities of these countries supposedly being conducted in the sabotage attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022. Their inability to ensure transparency in their investigative actions was pointed out.

The Foreign Ministry has described the evasion of interaction by the authorities of the FRG, Denmark and Sweden with Russia in this matter, the lack of replies to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin's October 6, 2022 letter to the heads of government of these countries on the need to undertake a comprehensive and open investigation with the involvement of representatives of the Russian authorities and Gazprom, and disregard for the relevant notices lodged by the Russian embassies, as unacceptable.

It was stated that the above countries were not interested in establishing the real circumstances of this destructive sabotage. On the contrary, it is clear from their actions that they have been dragging out the time needed to reach any conclusion in an attempt to conceal the evidence and the true perpetrators of this crime, which, as we believe, involves certain countries. Moreover, it was no accident that unlikely versions of the event were leaked to the media with the intent of obscuring the facts of this crime.

It was declared that Russia intended to persist in its effort to compel the authorities in the FRG, Denmark and Sweden to conduct an objective and comprehensive investigation into the sabotage attacks on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines with the mandatory inclusion of Russia.
