Mr Minister, colleagues,

We are glad to welcome you in Moscow and personally congratulate you on your appointment to the high post of director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

I am confident that your work in your new post will further strengthen the continuity of Russian-Chinese relations, strategic cooperation and comprehensive partnership.

We will do our best to promote the solution of the tasks formulated by our leaders during contacts with you and with the new Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang.

Our relations are developing steadily and dynamically. Despite the high turbulence on the world stage, we demonstrate solidarity and readiness to defend each other's interests based on respect for international law and the central role of the United Nations.

The Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China continue to closely coordinate their foreign policy efforts and advocate the formation of a more open, democratic and fair system of international relations. This is of interest to the vast majority of countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, which do not accept attempts to impose a confrontational agenda on them or restrain the development of states that show independence and rely on national interests.

I am sure that we will continue to move along this path, which is objective and conditioned by nothing less than history.
