On September 23, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Saleumxay Kommasith on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of Russia-Laos relations and reaffirmed the two countries' similar approaches to current issues on the international agenda.
Following the meeting, the ministers signed a Joint Statement of the Russian Federation and the Lao People's Democratic Republic on no first placement of weapons in outer space.
