Mr Bzhaniya,

I am happy to see you. We are maintaining close contacts. In December 2021, we met with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Inal Ardzinba and had constructive talks where we emphasised the importance of our allied relations.

The meeting with you and your visits to Moscow at this stage are especially important. Being allies, we need to coordinate our positions in the periods when international relations are experiencing extreme pressure due to the West's continued attempts to keep their dominant position in international affairs, to control everything and everyone and return to the unipolar world by means fair or foul (usually foul). Of course, this is fantasy. These aspirations cause the most serious pressure in international affairs. We are counteracting this, together with our partners, allies, including the Republic of Abkhazia.

We are pleased about the development of our political and military dialogue, the military, technical and defence cooperation, as well as our interaction in trade, economic and investment areas, and our humanitarian and cultural ties. All of this is well received by our peoples. We are interested in active development [of our ties].

We appreciated your decision to recognise the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics. We will actively facilitate the development of contacts with these new states. I believe that it will help stabilise the situation in our common geopolitical space.

In December 2021, we had a detailed discussed with Mr Ardzinba on the expansion of international relations with Abkhazia. We have the means to continue supporting the confirmation of Abkhazia's legitimate place in international affairs.

I think your visit is well-timed and we hope for a constructive conversation.
