MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Two Su-35 Russian Aerospace Forces multi-role fighter jets performed a scheduled flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea on Tuesday; the aircraft did not deviate from their flight path, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Wednesday.
"On June 15, two Su-35 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces performed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea. The flight took place along a strictly established route. During the flight, the aircraft did not deviate from the route, which is confirmed by objective control data," the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier in March, two of Russia's TU-160 strategic bombers carried out a scheduled flight over the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea. Long-range aviation units regularly fly over neutral waters in the Arctic, the North Atlantic and the Pacific regions, as well as the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea.
